Applying to jobs is exhausting. The alternative — having recruiters find and message you — is very real, and it comes down to making your LinkedIn profile searchable.
How recruiter search actually works
Recruiters use LinkedIn Recruiter to search by keywords: job titles, skills, locations, and companies. Your profile appears in their results only if those terms are present in your profile. So the goal is simple: put the right words in the right places.
Optimize your headline and About
Your headline and About section carry the most search weight. Include your target job title and core skills exactly as recruiters would type them. "Data Analyst | SQL, Power BI, Python" is far more findable than "Turning data into decisions."
Turn on "Open to Work"
The recruiter-only "Open to Work" setting tells recruiters you are available without showing a badge to everyone. It puts you into their filtered searches for active candidates.
Complete every section
LinkedIn favors complete profiles. Fill in skills, experience, education, and a professional photo. More complete profiles rank higher and look more credible.
Get the keywords from your resume
Not sure which keywords to feature? Jobwala analyzes your resume, identifies your target role, and hands you the exact skills and headline terms to put on LinkedIn — all grounded in your real experience.
